Karma is indeed a bitch

I have made no reservations about the fact that I think people falling down is the funniest god damn thing in the entire world. Read one of my previous blog entries, its a true story. I figured that it would only be a matter of time before my ridiculing of other people falling down on snow and ice would catch up to me, but damnit I didn’t think it would be today.

Let’s set the scene shall we? The parking lot at the K-Rock studio is plowed on a regular basis, but they don’t put salt down to melt the snow and ice. On several occassions, yours truly has almost tanked it in the parking lot and today I finally got what was coming to me for making fun of all the people who have fallen down outside the studio while I am on the air. I take a stride towards my SUV and as soon as my foot hit the ground, I knew it had bad news written all over it.

My foot gives way as I put all of my weight down and I take the mother of all swan dives to the icy ground. Imagine an old Looney Tunes cartoon where the Roadrunner runs past an oily trap laid out by Wile E. Coyote, and the poor coyote falls into his own trap.  I hit the ice, land straight on my ass and I am left only with a smile on my face while uttering the words “MAN DOWN” No one saw me go down like wet sack of leaves, but I know if I saw someone else do what I did, I would have pointed and laughed quite hard. To add insult to injury, I thought I was in the clear after I took a spill. About a half hour later, I start getting this violent spasming twitching feeling in my left ass cheek and only in my left ass cheeck. It hasn’t stopped twitching for about 5 hours. Can you see me going to the hospital with this ailment. “Hi sir, what seems to be the problem?” “I fell on the ice and I think I broke my ass because it won’t stop spasming” Classic

All I can do is laugh because I deserve every ounce of this for making fun of people falling down and laughing excessively at them. Mental note taken for future and I will try to be nicer to people in crisis…..who the F am I kidding, keep falling down people. Make me laugh my ass off

    I too, took a spill in that very same lot yesterday!!! I get out of my car to start heading down that icy slope. Hands are full of client folders and I look back for just one second to let our intern, Loni know, “be careful this is really slippery!” Deet da dee…no sooner do I say that do I start sliding around, back twisting and turning. Like Elaine from Seinfeld dancing, I too looked like I was doing a full body dry heave!!
    Luckily I landed on my knee, with out ending face up or face down in the parking lot. Loni was gracious enough not to laugh at me.
    Today I’m feeling it though – my back is tense and my knee is bruised…but my dignity is still in tact!

    I fell this year too! Right down my stairs and landed on the small of my back and my butt. I had a bruise the size (and shape) of Canada on my ass for about 2 weeks!

    I laughed but only later when it stopped hurting.
