This week I had the chance to debut a couple songs from Dark Was The Night, a compilation we will hear more from in the future on iRock. Perhaps we’ll do a block from the double CD/triple LP just before it’s released on February 17. That’s a few weeks off and there is plenty of music to share before then. For the third edition of iRock we heard:
Emarosa – The Past Should Stay Dead
Kings of Leon – Knocked Up (Lykke Li vs. Rodeo Remix)
Odawas – Harmless Lover’s Discourse
Gun Outfit – In The Dark
Fleet Foxes – White Winter Hymnal
M. Ward – Never Had Nobody Like You
The Decemberists – The Rake’s Song
Dirty Projectors + David Byrne – Knotty Pine
The Pains of Being Pure At Heart – Come Saturday
Ra Ra Riot – Can You Tell
Findlay Brown – Promised Land (Dimitri From Paris Remix)
Honor Bright – If Only They Knew
The National – So Far Around The Bend
The Postelles – 123 Stop
Kuroma – I Was The Rat
The Little Ones – Lovers Who Uncover
Andrew Bird – Oh No
M83 – Kim & Jessie
Bon Iver – Woods
Anthony Green – Dear Child (I’ve Been Dying To Reach You) Remix
Ladyfinger (ne) – Over and Over
Lohio – Modern Days
A.C. Newman – There Are Maybe Ten Or Twelve
The Rise of Science – Short Comings Can Be Incomplete
Wallpaper – T Rex (Remix)
Bruce Peninsula – Steamroller
A few of the bands are giving away music on their official websites. Check out The Decemberists and The Pains of Being Pure At Heart for a couple free tracks.
As always, we’ll end with a video. Here’s Ra Ra Riot doing “Can You Tell” from their visit to Letterman. If you want to catch them live, they play The Smith Opera House in Geneva on January 31.
